One lucky Malawi Calsburg consumer stands a chance to watch a Euro 2012 semifinal match in Poland in the recently launched promotion.
According to Carlsberg’s senior brands manager-alcoholic beverages Twikale Chirwa, the lucky winner will win an all paid trip to watch the match.
The firm launched the promotion at MBC TV studio on Wednesday with a live telecast.
“As the longest standing sponsor of football, we couldn’t just sit back and let down Malawi’s football fans. That’s why we’re bringing excitement in this football season.
“Carlsberg is the official beer of Euro 2012 and so we had to do something spectacular to bring the excitement that comes with the UEFA games to consumers here in Malawi,” says Chirwa
The promotion started running on Wednesday and will end on March 31.
To enter consumers will have to sms the code found at the liner of each bottle.
“For TNM subscribers they can sms the code to 4040 while our Airtel customers will send the text to 54040,” he said.
Carlsberg’s group marketing manager Gwynyth Mchiela also disclosed that the promotion would run concurrently with a TV show every Friday on MBC TV.
Mchiela also unveiled the host of the show in former Big Brother housemate Code Sangala and DJ Jean of FM 101.
Those that don’t make it to the semifinals can win 5 HD TV screens, 5 PVR HD decorders so that they can enjoy the football in the comfort of their homes. Other consolation prizes include Carlsberg branded footballs, caps, cooler bags, neck straps, football jerseys and shorts.
Manchester United´s legendary goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel has been appointed the global ambassador of UEFA Euro 2012.
In a press statement issued recently the tournament´s official sponsor Carlsberg says it has appointed former Denmark international Schmeichel, who was voted “World´s Best Goalkeeper” in 1992 and 1993, in its bid to finalize its own dream team to help activate sponsorship for the European football festival to be jointly organized by Poland and Ukraine from June 8 to July 1 later this year.
As an ambassador for Carlsberg Group, Schmeichel will be actively involved in many aspects of the Group´s activation program, including engaging with fans through the Carlsberg Facebook campaign, the Fan Challenge that will give fans a chance to be at Euro 2012 and ultimately present the Carlsberg Man of the Match Award in the final.
