K Squared Publishes First ebook: “What the Mzungu Saw”

Donates Net Book Proceeds to Vision for Kenya Fund

CHICAGO, Sept. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — “What the Mzungu Saw: Business and Life Lessons from Africa” details K Squared Communications President Kate Koziol‘s work in Kenya teaching young entrepreneurs.  The book will be launched on Tuesday at the ROTARY/One Cosmopolitan Club’s Vision for Kenya fundraiser event at the Underground Wunderbar in Chicago.  Net proceeds from the ebook sales, available exclusively on Amazon, will be donated to Vision for Kenya, a registered 501(c)(3) organization based in Chicago, dedicated to aiding healthcare centers and rural hospitals in Kenya.

“We work extensively with entrepreneurs and in the travel industry so it was a perfect fit, and a complete honor, for us to work with Kenyan entrepreneurs,” said Koziol. “Telling their story in this book and donating the money to benefit Kenyan communities helps raise awareness of their needs and might bring the world a little closer together.”

“Healthcare is a critical issue and working with ROTARY/One Cosmopolitan Club will help thousands of Kenyans get the care they desperately need,” said Jacob Sitati, principal at Maurice+Fischer and one of the founders of Vision for Kenya.  “Our first effort will fund medical equipment for Lugulu hospital and our next goal is to build/refurbish two water wells to provide clean water, both life changing projects for this community.”

Ms. Koziol’s work teaching in the 2012 Kenya entrepreneurial studies program was sponsored by the U.S. State Department program and run by Citizen Bridges, formerly known as Heartland International, a Chicago-based non-profit dedicated to the development of civil society worldwide.

The book can be bought via Amazon and is available on the Kindle, Kindle Fire, iPad and iPhone.  Both Jacob Sitati and Kate Koziol are members of the ROTARY/One Cosmopolitan Club and tickets for the September 11 fundraiser are available here.
