MTN Uganda Case dropped

The High Court nullified the orders, summonses and charges that the Chief Magistrate had made or issued in reference to the attached MTN Uganda case brought about by Nathan Were .

In summary, the Judge agreed with that there was no prima facie case, and hence the criminal summons issued in October were issued in error and were null and void. The Judge also nullified the summons and charges that the Chief Magistrate had said were to issue following the ruling she made on 6th November. The Judge went on to also nullify the orders,  summons and charges that were made by the Chief Magistrate on 19th November 2012.

This means that the private prosecution has totally collapsed as everything the Chief Magistrate had done has been nullified.
