When all seemed to be lost, the gods finally smiled to a Mtakataka based farmer Abraham Phiri who can finally send back to school his child after immerging a winner a scholarship valued at K100 000 in the ongoing Airtel Timaitha Promotion.
Phiri, was among the weekly winners during a draw conducted on Tuesday at the company’s headquarters in Lilongwe.
“I have been struggling to pay for schools for my first child who is in form on here in Mtakataka and for me to win this amount, she will surely be in class as soon as possible,” he said.
The promotion, which is expctd to end on February 26, will see 32 people from every district winning a scholarship valued at K100 000 every week.
The promotion will run for 13 weeks which translates to 416 beneficiaries.
In addition, 10 winners from each district will get a ZTE handset each week while another ten customers will also get K1000 worth of airtime weekly.
The company’s Brand and Communications Manager Isabel Kachinjika said aid the fact that some people are walking away with prizes simply for being on the company’s network means that Airtel is serious about transforming lives of its customers to another level.
“I think this freedom must be nurtured and embraced very well by all Malawians so that more and more people are educated,” he said.
The entry mechanisms include usage of over K40 worth of aritime a day of any Airtel product service, transacting with Airtel Money and buying a news Airtel Phone pack or SIM park.
