GDS International’s CIO Summit to tackle key challenges faced by African technology leaders

Cape Town, South Africa: Taking place at the Arabella Western Cape Hotel & Spa, South Africa the CIO Summit will examine the challenging role of today’s CIO. The gathering will provide a platform for business leaders to examine current trends and develop real-life business strategies.

The event begins with the CIO20 Meeting, a closed door roundtable that brings together 20 of the most senior members of the delegation to discuss the key challenges and opportunities currently affecting business decisions.

Attending executives will be able to learn about two of the biggest technology trends of the moment – Big Data and Cloud Computing. A leading analyst will introduce the concept of Big Data and look to separate real business value from industry hype, while the benefits and pitfalls of cloud computing will also be debated in a separate session. In particular attending decision makers will look at understanding the complexities of cloud technology and how they can develop a plan for implementing cloud based solutions within their own organisation.

Mobility and its impact within the enterprise will also be high on the agenda during the summit. As reliance on the mobile sphere forces companies operating across all industries to change the way they approach the development of their mobile strategy.

One of the key challenges facing organisations globally is the stimulation of innovation as a way of keeping ahead of the competition. With Corporate IT often accused of being misaligned with core business objectives and incapable of keeping pace, summit participants will examine what can be done to change this perception.
