PSL awards an all-Khune show

Kaizer Chiefs captain and goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune was the biggest winner last night during the Premier Soccer League (PSL) 2013 awards at Gold Reef City in Johannesburg.

He walked away with four honours: footballer of the season, players’ player of the season, goalkeeper of the season and Nedbank Cup player of the tournament.

The 25-year-old will smile all the way to the bank with a R575 000 reward for his individual efforts that helped the Naturena outfit to “reclaim the glory” with a league and cup double.

The amount could escalate to R605 000 if Khune banks with Absa, thanks to the banking giant adding R10 000 for every award to winners who are its customers.

Here are the other winners:

» Absa Premiership Young Player of the Season (R50 000) – Ronwen Williams (SuperSport United)

» Absa Premiership Coach of the Season (R75 000) – Stuart Baxter (Kaizer Chiefs)

» Absa Premiership Absolutely Awesome Goal of the Season (R75 000) – Mor Diouf (SuperSport United)

» Absa Premiership Top Goalscorer (R25 000) – Katlego Mashego (Moroka Swallows) with 13 goals
