A woman and her two children died of smoke inhalation inside their shack in Willarsfarm, south of Johannesburg, emergency services have said.
“The mother and her two children died of smoke inhalation due to a burning brazier which was left unattended inside their shack when they fell asleep.
They were confirmed dead on the scene on Tuesday morning,” said spokesman Robert Mulaudzi.
Meanwhile, a man has died after his backyard shack caught fire in Northriding, Johannesburg, emergency services said today.
“The incident happened early on Tuesday morning. He was burnt beyond recognition,” said Mulaudzi.
Four vehicles in the backyard workshop also burnt down.
The cause of the fire was not yet known, Mulaudzi said.
