Egypt's annual inflation hit 9.8% in June

Egypt: Egypt’s Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) has said the country’s annual inflation jumped significantly to 9.8% in June from 8.2% in May and 8.1% in April, raising consumer prices to 0.9%, Daily News Egypt has reported. The food and beverage sub-index climbed 12.7% year-on-year and 2.3% month on month. This month’s inflation level is the highest since 2011, when levels registered 10.4% in July, said the agency. []
