The so-called “Modimolle Monster”, Johan Kotze, has been found guilty of murder by the High Court in Pretoria.
Judge Bert Bam today found him and one of his co-accused, Andries Sithole, guilty of killing Conrad Bonnette, the son of Kotze’s ex-wife, Ina.
Kotze, Sithole, Pieta Mohlane and Sello Mphaka are on trial for allegedly murdering Kotze’s stepson, Conrad (19), and kidnapping, repeatedly raping, and attempting to murder Kotze’s ex-wife, Ina, in Modimolle, Limpopo, on January 3 2012.
Kotze denied guilt, claiming he could not be held accountable for his actions that day.
Sithole, Mohlane, and Mphaka claimed Kotze had threatened to shoot them if they did not co-operate.
