Mandla Mandela, the embattled grandson of former president Nelson Mandela, has seemingly extended an olive branch to the 16 members of his family who took him to court two weeks ago over the human remains of three of Mandela’s children.
Mandla said his grandfather, a man of reconciliation, would not like to see his family fighting.
“Every one of us, wherever we may be positioned, we continue to draw our strength from him and regard him as a source of inspiration to all of us.
“We just need to be true to ourselves. We know very well of his teachings and dedication to reconciliation of our people through the table,” he said of his grandfather who turns 95 today.
He said Madiba had taught them as a family – and the world – that when people differ they needed to sit around the table and work through their differences.
