Glynnis Breytenbach’s lawyers will apply for leave to appeal today’s dismissal in the Labour Court of an application to have her reinstated in her job.
Gerhard Wagenaar, her lawyer, said that he had received instructions from Breytenbach to appeal the judgment.
“We are currently preparing the application for leave to appeal. We will have to wait for the judge to tell us when she’ll be able to hear it,” said Wagenaar.
He added that they would not pursue other avenues at this stage.
Breytenbach’s application was aimed at preventing the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) from removing her from her position as regional head of the specialised crimes unit in Pretoria.
