After five years at CNN, Johannesburg-based correspondent Nkepile Mabuse will be returning to eNCA from September.
Mabuse joined in February 2008 after starting her broadcasting career with eNews in 2000.
She joined the international news network in 2008 and will now return to be the executive producer of eNews Channel Africa’s new flagship current affairs show, which will launch towards the end of the year, the channel said in a statement today.
Details of the show, including its name, will be released closer to the time.
“eNCA is delighted to have Nkepile Mabuse back in the fold, and we are eternally grateful to CNN for the opportunities provided to her,” eNCA’s head of News, Patrick Conroy, said.
Mabuse joined CNN shortly before eNCA launched as a 24-hour news channel.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be joining eNCA,” Mabuse said. “Africa is on the rise and the world is hungry for African content and context.”
Mabuse covered a wide range of domestic and international stories during her career at CNN. She also interviewed high-profile leaders, including Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu and President Jacob Zuma.
