Sharm El-Sheikh airport sees 20% drop in air traffic

Egypt: Egyptian Airports Co has said air traffic at the Sharm El-Sheikh airport fell 20% year-on-year over the last two days as a result of protests and violence seen throughout the country, Daily News Egypt has reported. The Sharm El-Sheikh airport on Monday serviced a total of 22,500 passengers, compared with 21,700 passengers serviced at the Hurghada International Airport, where flight patterns and schedules have remained largely unaffected by the political climate, the company said.
