Oliver Kinross is pleased to announce the launch of its two-day Africa and Middle East Oil & Gas Summit to be held in Abu Dhabi, taking place 30 September-1 October 2013. The only event of its kind covering E&P (Exploration and Production) opportunities in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East, it will bring together high-level representatives of Africa and the Middle East’s Oil & Gas industries, fostering the development of strategic partnerships and allowing delegates to discover the outlook for E&P in Africa and the Middle East.

Africa is, at present, one of the most promising regions for oil & gas exploration, with an estimated 8.01% of the world’s oil & gas. As oil & gas discoveries in Africa continue, this figure is only set to rise. The Middle East boasts some of the world’s leading expertise in E&P, with over half the world’s oil & gas reserves. Separated only by the Red Sea, Africa and the Middle East are perfectly located to improve their business and trade links. Chris Faulkner, CEO, Breitling Oil & Gas who will be speaking at the Summit, underscored the importance of developing oil & gas industries, when he noted that

“‘There has never been a greater time to be in the energy business‘”.

The purpose of the Africa and Middle East Oil & Gas Summit is to facilitate discussions between the key players and enable cooperation between these regions, combining the potential for oil & gas exploration in Africa with the vast experience of the Middle East Oil & Gas industries.

This two-day event will allow Africa and the Middle East to strengthen industry ties, seek out new business opportunities with regional Oil & Gas giants and share their expertise, by bringing together Energy Ministries, IOCs (International Oil Corporations), NOCs (National Oil Corporations) and their solution providers. Delegates will have the opportunity to attend a Conference, panel discussions, a 40 booth interactive exhibition, a networking evening and special focus sessions on East Africa, Southern Africa and West Africa, in addition to hearing keynote speakers address the most topical issues. News of the latest opportunities, as well as case studies of the UAE, Kenya, South Sudan and Madagascar, amongst others, will also be available. A Business Match-Making Service is on offer to aid networking.

This year’s keynote presentation will address developing cooperation and trade opportunities in the oil & gas industries of Africa and the Middle East. Osten Olorunsola, Director, Department of Petroleum Resources, Nigeria and Mohamed Al-Harthy, CEO, Oman Society of Petroleum Services as well as Willem De Meyer, Vice President: Commercial, Sacoil Holdings are just some of the industry experts that will be speaking at the event.
