Bits Blog: Governments, Led by U.S., Seek More Data About Twitter Users

In its semiannual transparency report, the micro-blogging service said it received 1,157 data requests, mostly from government officials in the United States, in the first half of 2013. But the data excludes national security requests, which have become a hot political issue in Washington.
