Africa investor Institutional Investment Awards 2013 Shortlist Announced

Africa investor (Ai), a leading international investment and communications group, today announced the shortlist for its prestigious Africa investor Index Series Awards 2013, to be held on the 24th of September 2013 at the New York Stock Exchange during the UN General Assembly.

Launched in 2007, and linked to the Africa investor (Ai) Index Series, the Ai Index Series Awards are the only pan-African Awards designed to recognise Africa’s best performing stock exchanges, listed companies, investment banks, research teams, regulators, socially responsible companies and fund managers. It is a uniquely African capital markets platform.

Africa investor’s Ai 100 and Ai 40 Investors’ indices capture the top 40 and 100 of the largest and most liquid publicly-traded stocks across Africa, ranking them by market capitalisation and by liquidity, as measured by the average daily value traded in US dollars. Ai also produces the continent’s only pan-African Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) Indices, the Ai SRI 50 and Ai SRI 30, which were launched in 2006 in association with the United Nations.

Commenting on the 2013 Awards shortlist, Hubert Danso, CEO of Africa investor said; “Africa investor’s focus is to intermediate global capital with viable transactions and investment opportunities across African markets. We are therefore delighted with this year’s quality and quantity of entries, which are first class and an exceptional advertisement for the continent. I applaud the nominees for bringing recognition to Africa’s investment competitiveness through their participation in these important Ai capital markets awards.”

The Ai Index Series Awards will be held during the 6th Ai CEO Institutional Investment Summit, held in association with NYSE Euronext, on the 24th of September 2013 at the New York Stock Exchange.
