Sharp makes $182m loss, despite doubling solar sales

Japanese multinational Sharp, which manufacturs Crystalline solar and thin-film solar cells, has reported a JPY17,977m ($182m) loss in the first quarter of 2013 – an improvement on the JPY138,400 ($1.4bn) loss made at the same time in 2012 as solar sales in its home country double.
