J.C. Penney: We've Got Marketing But What Will We Sell?

J.C. Penney has hired a new Chief Marketing officer, just in time to wrap up the Back to School season and prepare for the Holidays.  Debra Berman joins the senior executive ranks of J.C.Penney as senior vice president and Chief Marketing Officer. She will be in charge of revitalizing the J.C.Penney brand and communicating the company’s values to the J.C.Penney customer. She comes with a fabulous resume (where have we heard that before?).   At Kraft Food Group she directed global brand strategy for all Kraft-owned brands. Prior to joining Kraft, she worked in a number of leading advertising agencies including a stint at Sterling Brands in strategic planning.
