The body of an army recruit who apparently froze to death has been discovered at the Oudtshoorn infantry school.
The body was discovered at around 7am this morning.
The recruit apparently died while on guard duty.
Police spokesperson Captain Bernadine Steyn confirmed the incident.
No foul play is suspected.
Advocate Pikkie Greeff of the SA National Defence Union said serious questions should be raised about procedures and training after the latest incident at the school.
Earlier this year, some recruits ended up in hospital after they were assaulted by their instructors.
A number of recruits have died during the past two years as a result of heatstroke and hardship.
