TheÂ SpanishÂ DailyÂ ElÂ PaisÂ published exclusiveÂ informationÂ aboutÂ DanielÂ Galvan, the man who raped 11 Moroccan children in Kenitra city and benefitedÂ fromÂ the controversialÂ royalÂ pardon,Â after heÂ wasÂ sentenced toÂ 30Â years in prison.
The newspaper reported thatÂ Daniel’sÂ realÂ nameÂ isÂ SalahÂ al-Din,Â adding thatÂ he was born in 1950Â inÂ theÂ Iraqi cityÂ Basra.
The newspaper added that he workedÂ asÂ aÂ spyÂ in theÂ AbuÂ GhraibÂ prisonÂ in Iraq. He was also an officer inÂ the Iraqi armyÂ andÂ the owner ofÂ aÂ pharmacyÂ inÂ theÂ sameÂ country.
The daily also pointed outÂ thatÂ inÂ 1996, he received aÂ grant fromÂ MurciaâsÂ UniversityÂ forÂ his mastery ofÂ three languages,Â andÂ later heÂ married aÂ Spanish woman,Â obtainedÂ SpanishÂ citizenshipÂ andÂ changed his name fromÂ Salah toÂ Daniel.
DanielÂ resided in many countries such a Egypt,Â Jordan, Syria andÂ England,Â beforeÂ settlingÂ in Spain,Â and finally moving toÂ liveÂ inÂ Kenitra Morocco,Â where heÂ rapedÂ 11Â Moroccan children.
The latest news indicated that Daniel had a sexual relationship with a Morocco minor called Redouan in exchange for money while he was in the Kenitra jail. Â
Daniel stated to the Spanish investigating judge that everything in Morocco âcan be bought with money.â
