The moment has finally  come — needs to release its treasured franchises on other platforms to survive. We’ve been hearing that more or less since the modern video gaming industry took shape. I’ve suggested it before. In a world of iPhones, tablets and ubiquitous entertainment, why keep Mario penned up in one or two consoles, and a fraction of the broader market? According to Nintendo President Satoru Iwata, there are plenty of good reasons.
