Malawi Flames coach drops 12

MALAWI FOOTBALL:  Flame coach Tom Saintfiet on Tuesday named a 20-man squad to face Rwanda in an international friendly to be played on August 14 in Kigali.

As promised after Malawi’s dismal performance in Lusaka, Zambia, the coach has made some drastic changes to the squad dropping more than 10 players that went to Cosafa Cup either due to indiscipline or poor performance.

The coach has left out Fischer Kondowe, George Nyirenda, Young Chimodzi Junior, Douglas Chirambo, Bongani Kaipa, Dave Banda, Gastin Simkonda, Jimmy Zakazaka, Frank Banda, Boniface Kaulesi, Ndaziona Chatsalira and goalkeeper Simplex Nthala.

The coach named goalkeepers Charles Swini and Owen Chaima, defenders Limbikani Mzava, James Sangala, Moses Chavula, John Lanjesi, Harry Nyirenda, Lucky Malata and Foster Namwela.

Midfielders in his squad include Joseph Kamwendo, Micium Mhone, Chimango Kayira, John Banda, Robert Ng’ambi and Peter Wadabwa.

Upfront he has named Robin Ngalande, Chiukepo Msowoya, Esau Kanyenda, Gabadinho Mhango and Phillip Masiye.
