ZANU-PF youths in Bulilima and Mangwe districts have held victory celebrations for the party’s National Assembly candidates that won the just-ended harmonised elections. Speaking during the celebrations on Thursday, incoming National Assembly members for Bulilima East and Mangwe constituencies, Cdes Mathias Siqhoza Ndlovu and Obedingwa Mguni who described the youths as the engine of the party, urged them to be actively involved in development initiatives that the party would implement in the constituencies.

“Our victory in the three constituencies marks the start of a new and effective era of development. People in Mangwe have been deprived of development for a long time. Now it is here and the youths must ensure that they are always in the forefront. You are the future leaders of this country and therefore it is your duty to develop this country in preparation of your leadership,” said Cde Mguni.

He said he would not betray the people’s trust in him and will strive to deliver on his promises.
“The reason why we are getting into office is because you voted for us expecting us to deliver as promised. I assure you that you will see the results that you are expecting.

“This constituency will shift from its sorry state that we see now where people are failing to realise the full potential of the abundant resources they have,” he said.
Cde Mguni said youths were rest assured of a technical college that will impart skills to enable them to embark on development projects

“It is high time a viable training centre is opened for our youths. This is one of the major development initiatives that we have planned for the area of Bulilima and Mangwe.

Speaking at the same event, Cde Ndlovu urged youths to be wary of influence that came from neighbouring countries.
“I know that as youths you travel frequently to neighbouring countries. Please be wary of countries that are trying to dispute our party’s landslide victory.

“Do not be influenced by the false rumours that are circulating,” he said.
Cde Ndlovu also encouraged youths to respect their elders. Members of the Zanu-PF Youth League who spoke during the celebrations expressed their unwavering support for the revolutionary party and its leaders.

The celebrations were held under the theme “Celebrating a victory in our three constituencies”.  The party recovered Bulilima East, Bulilima West and Mangwe constituencies which used to be under MDC formations.
