PAMELA Anderson, best known for her work on Baywatch, is set to swap the beach for the pit wall after being appointed as a new motor racing team owner. The 46-year-old Canadian actress has become the team principal of a new FIA GT outfit which is set to make its competitive bow this weekend. The team will be known as Race Alliance by Pamela Anderson and will be given its first run out at this weekend’s round in Slovakia.
Former Formula One driver Vitantonio Liuzzi, who raced for Toro Rosso and Force India, and Mathias Lauda, the son of three-time world champion Niki Lauda, will line up as Anderson’s drivers. The venture marks the model’s second foray into motorsport after the same team acquired her services last season.
But Anderson will be hoping this year’s venture is more successful after plans to compete in the European Le Mans Series with an Aston Martin failed to materialise.
A spokesman for the team told Autosport: “We want to make Race Alliance a recognisable name and have looked for the best drivers possible.
“The plan is to contest the full FIA GT Series next year, as well as the Nurburgring 24 Hours, and then look to NASCAR after that.”-Sportsmail.
