Memories (Part 2) – Poem

The path is long and cold

Only memories of your generous smile

Warm up the resilient determination

To carry on this absurd walk

Leading to absurd thoughts about existence

 ************

The walk evokes dormant feelings

Considered, for long, gone and dead:

Feelings of love and infatuation

In an environment strewn with hatred

And dislike for the other in his squalid otherness

 ************

The path continues undeniably boring

Birds swoon over the trees

Then soar in the sky celebrating

Their short but fulfilling passage on this earth

While humanity decays of wanton and despair

 ************

Meanwhile life continues on and on

For more misery and gloom

For more lies and desires of possessiveness

For a boring path in which humanity looses its soul

Or maybe for the pleasure of solitude

In an open-ended trek of repentance

 ************

The path is green and the forest is lush

All this contrasts sharply with a strong desire for

Destruction of self and all surrounding forms of life

And all that is beautiful and inspiring and overwhelming

And of course this miserable naked humanity

 ************

The path is there sinuous but beautiful and gracious

But all these forked tongues and sweet lies and treachery

And deception and religious absurd design

Make it look in the end, alas

A tedious and endless search of oneself, what a pity!
