Gordon Igesund’s charges should “stop suffering from the illusion that we’re the best”, Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula has said.

Speaking at a briefing today ahead of the Mandela Sport and Cultural Day on Saturday, Mbalula said he was disappointed with the 2-0 loss against Nigeria yesterday. He said losing against Burkina Faso on Saturday would mean “we’re weak”.

Mbalula said it was all systems go for Saturday’s event.

“It’s going to be awesome and spectacular.”

Group chief executive of the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa) Lucky Montana said the agency would provide free transport to more than 40 000 spectators around Gauteng to and from the stadium.
