MTN Nigeria on 14th August, 2013 in a breakfast meeting with the press launched a Virtual Top Up plus (VTU+) to the Nigerian market. While the VTU service has been in the market for more than 2 years, the VTU plus was launched to boost the service which enables subscribers to recharge their airtime, purchase and activate data bundles directly to their devices (smartphones/feature phones, tablets, Mifi, Dongles etc.), generate recharge PINs and renew BlackBerry subscriptions.
As a MTN subscriber, you no longer need to scratch and load voucher through the regular MTN recharge command. And the good news is that you can top up as many times as you want and whenever you want. This service also enables airtime vendors to recharge their accounts from anywhere in the world.
According to Larry Annetts, MTN Nigeria’s Chief Marketing Officer, this service is the first of its kinds in the world and it’s another way MTN is showing its leadership in the market.
The launch event also witnessed a live demonstration by John Anyafulu, Manager, Electronic Channel, MTN Nigeria on how the service works. The service is currently available on mobile banking applications, POS, ATMs, Web, MTN centers, partner stores and MTN retailers all over Nigeria.
