Supra Mahumapelo Department probes ‘racist’ paint attack on ANC leader’s son

The education department is investigating an alleged racist incident in which a teacher threw paint at the son of the ANC chairperson in the North West, Supra Mahumapelo.

“The attack happened in one of the school laboratory, during a practical experiment class. A white male educator poured cde Supra’s son with white paint on his school jacket (sic),” the ANC in the province said in a statement.

Provincial education spokesperson Brian Setswambung told Beeld the matter was being investigated.

The principal of the Potchefstroom High School for Boys said he was not allowed to comment.

The ANC in North West also called for a “commission focusing on racial discrimination in all former apartheid institutions of learning”.
