Egypt may replace sales tax with VAT

Egypt: Egyptian finance ministry has said the government is considering switching to Value-Added Tax (VAT) as a backbone for financial discipline and social justice, Ahram has reported. The proposal will be discussed through an inclusive social dialogue, including commerce and industry federations, investors’ associations and political parties, said finance minister, Ahmed Galal.
