Airtel Malawi outshines other countries in achievers club

Leading mobile telecommunications company in the country  Airtel Malawi has come out Africa Champions in  a sales contest launched in the last financial year for sales teams across Airtel Africa.

Announcing this  in a press release, Airtel Malawi Sales and Distribution Director Elias Dziko said 17 Countries in which Airtel operates participated in the contest dubbed Airtel Achievers Club .

“Sales Teams were divided into zones and each zone represents an area overseen by a Zonal Business manager. A total of 115 Zones participated in Africa and Malawi was represented with seven Zones” Dziko narrated.

He explained, “at the end of the competition, Malawian South Zone 1B came out Africa champions led by  Zonal Business Manager  Dan Kamanga with his team comprising Noel Kalimira, Maxwell Liwonde and Felix Banda”.

Dziko also pointed out  that Malawi teams exceptionally  performed well in the competition and  consistently maintained four teams in Africa top 10

The winners leave for Dubai this Friday accompanied by National sales Manager Mavuto Mzungu and Sales Director Elias Dziko as recognition for the achievement.

Dziko said the objective of the competition was to drive sales teams across Africa attain aggressive customer recruitment drives and airtime sales in their markets. He added that the initiative  was also an opportunity for sales teams to benchmark their capabilities against peers  across Airtel Africa operations

The competition is in line with Airtel’ s HR policy of culture of employee first, Reward and Recognition for outstanding talent.  Top prize for the competition was an all-inclusive trip to Dubai for the winning Team which Airtel Malawi has been awarded

Two years ago, Airtel Malawi was awarded the Best Data Operator in Southern n Eastern Africa by the Africa Telecom People Award for Best Overal Network Quality for 2010/11.

Airtel Malawi was also recognized as an OpCo Of The Year among all then Zain operators in 2008.
