Local media specialist group learns from the best

The MediaShop, a specialist provider of expertise in media, strategy, planning, digital and outdoor advertising, recently invested in the services of iLearn, a national specialist provider of ONSITE instructor-led and ONLINE elearning training methodologies, to strengthen their intellectual capacity.

The MediaShop is fairly unique as it has over 280 active clients who bill anything between R100 000 to R500 Million! The company was established in 1988 and work hard to build longstanding, strong partnerships with their clients and media owners. The MediaShop has a level 3 AA Empowerdex rated BBBEE scorecard, and a contributing factor to selecting iLearn was that they have a level 2 rating.

Thirteen interns from The MediaShop recently completed iLearn’s Life Skills Programme, which covered several key areas of development in preparing them more sufficiently for the business environment. The Programme included attitude in the workplace, customer service, business etiquette, financial freedom, time and stress management, as well as business communication.

The Life Skills Programme was specifically requested for The Media Shop’s interns, who are also busy with a learnership, as an additional facet of their induction and preparation for success in the business world.

As a result of the investment in soft skills training provided ONSITE by iLearn, The MediaShop’s junior staff have been fully instructed on all aspects of professional business etiquette, a prerequisite for their progress in the corporate sector.

Management at The MediaShop selected iLearn because of the training company’s experience, as well as its ability to customise any programme according to a client’s expectations and desired outcomes. “They are customer-centric and flexible in terms of their client needs, and were very willing to customise the “internvention” according to our requirements,” says Alarece Eaton, HR Manager, The Media Shop.
