ANCYL national task team convenor Mzwandile Masina (left) said that “it is important that on this special occasion, we offer a public apology to everyone who was insulted and wronged by the organisation”.
Masina said that the ANCYL is not about individuals. He said that “as we move forward to rebuild the structures of the organisation, we must build such structures and not concentrate on individuals”.
He also said the ANCYL would continue to pursue the course of economic freedom as adopted at its 2011 conference in Johannesburg. Above: Struggle icon Walter Sisulu’s grandson Shaka Sisulu (right) at the event.

Ramaphosa also told ANCYL members to read and develop themselves. He said “to do that, you have to learn from past and present leadership, and read to better yourself... leaders such as Nelson Mandela and Walter Sisulu were great leaders because they studied and did a lot of reading.”
