NGO wants Public Protector to investigate Sanparks

A nongovernmental organisation has asked the public protector to investigate SA National Parks (Sanparks).

Aikona, an environmental NGO, has asked Thuli Madonsela’s office to investigate the salaries of Sanparks’ top management, their reasons for commercialising the Kruger National Park and alleged mismanagement at Sanparks, Afrikaans daily Beeld reported today.

The newspaper said Sanparks did not respond to its request for comment and that an advocate at the protector’s office had already been assigned to the case.
