Jake White quits as Brumbies coach

Canberra – Brumbies coach Jake White has reportedly quit with two years left on his contract at the Super Rugby club.

Australian media reported that White, who coached South Africa to the World Cup title in 2007, asked for a release today. He has a contract with the Canberra side until the end of the 2015 season.

The 50-year-old South African missed out on the Wallabies coaching job in July when Queensland coach Ewen McKenzie was chosen to replace Robbie Deans.

White took the Brumbies to the Super Rugby final this year, where they lost to the Chiefs.
