Body in boot: Second suspect arrested

A 32-year-old man was arrested today after a man was found dead in a car boot at Montecasino in Fourways, Johannesburg.

“He is the second suspect following the arrest of Maruschka Robinson (24) who appeared (in) the Randburg Magistrates’ Court yesterday. She was remanded in custody until October 2,” police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said.

The two were arrested after Dustan Blom’s decomposing body was found in the boot of his car at Montecasino on Sunday around 1pm. Security guards had noticed a bad smell.

“A motive for his murder is still being investigated,” Dlamini said.

“The second suspect will be charged with murder and he is expected to appear in court within 48 hours pending further investigation.”

The Star newspaper reported today that Blom’s wife, Talita, died earlier this year after giving birth to their twins. The twins were in the care of Talita’s family.
