Official Draw for the FIFA Club World Cup Morocco 2013 in Marrakech on 9 October

GENEVA, Switzerland, October 1, 2013/African Press Organization (APO)/ The Official Draw for the FIFA Club World Cup Morocco 2013 presented by TOYOTA will take place at the La Mamounia Hotel in Marrakech on Wednesday, 9 October. Five of the seven teams who will take part in the competition are already known: Atlético Mineiro from Brazil, Auckland City FC from New Zealand, FC Bayern München from Germany, CF Monterrey from Mexico and Raja Casablanca from Morocco. The teams representing the Asian and African confederations will be determined at a later stage. The draw, which will determine the match-ups for the Quarter-Finals, is scheduled to take place at 19.00, and representatives of the qualified teams have been invited to attend.

Austrian Foreign Ministry lifts travel warning for Egyptian Red Sea resorts

VIENNA, Austria, October 1, 2013/African Press Organization (APO)/ The Austrian Foreign Ministry has lifted the warning issued against travel to resorts on the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aqaba in Egypt with an all clear in effect from today. IFC Co-sponsors Conference to Facilitate Investment in Nigeria Power Sector

Tanzania suspends two leading newspapers

NEW YORK, October 1, 2013/African Press Organization (APO)/ The Committee to Protect Journalists condemns a decision by Tanzanian authorities to suspend two leading private Swahili dailies on accusations of sedition. The government issued a statement on Friday suspending Mwananchi and MTanzania for 14 and 90 days respectively.
