Raising a happy child is an important issue to every parent. Some of the ways to keep a child smiling and happy are showing love and care. Many children live a life full of happiness, adventure and wonder in their homes. Unfortunately, many don’t. Social problems, sicknesses, bone deformities and other severe diseases have taken away the joy and happiness of many children. Despite their difficulties many try to brave through the storm when adequately supported.
There are many organizations, foundations and homes, set to cater for the needs and solving problems of children. One of such charity organizations in Merksem-Antwerp, (Belgium) is “Centrum Sociale Hulp” (Social Assistance Center). The task is to design proportionate plans and work with the general public and donor organizations to help children with disabilities and burns to give them revalidation.
Since the center opened couple of years ago to assist children in need, little did they expect to meet financial barriers. On August 16, 2013, a little boy suffering from a disease called “Muscular Atrophy,” who needs a dolphin therapy, was taken to Marmris-Turkey with the whole family for twelve days. The treatment cost the organization the tune of 15, 000 Euro. Generating money to keep doing the charity work has been painful and slow, yet the money which goes out is huge.
Prostheses until she is adult. In other to keep the center running to cater for the needs of the children, the management is always looking for sponsorship from different sources. At times they call upon hotels, lawyers, doctors and large corporations for support in funds.
They also organize lotteries as a source to fund raising, sell gadgets and toys which are given to the center by individuals and factories. The Social Assistance Center’s head, Mario Schaekers; cordially invites everyone willing to help at the administration’s office located at Bredabaan 486, 2170 Merksem. Telephone: 0032/489639095.
