Convergys unveils innovative operator strategies for creating new revenue streams

London, UK and Cape Town, South Africa – 12th November, 2013 – Convergys, a global leader in customer experience management, today unveils new strategies for how telecoms operators can create new revenue streams in an increasingly challenging and differentiated mobile market. At this year’s Africa Com event, Convergys’ Stuart Eveleigh, vice president of Customer Interaction Technology (CIT), will meet with the world’s leading telecoms companies to discuss where the opportunities lie, and how they can capitalise on existing infrastructures and popular consumer applications – at minimal expense.

At the region’s largest annual communications congress and exhibition, taking place from 12th – 14th November, industry experts from across the entire communications ecosystem will come together to discuss the most strategic issues affecting companies in this marketplace. With global mobile revenues set to fall, according to Ovum, while appetite for smartphones and mobile data services continues to grow, a critical issue for service providers involves thinking in new and more inventive ways to generate new sources of income.

Stuart Eveleigh, vice president of Customer Interaction Technology (CIT) at Convergys said, “As the telecoms market becomes squeezed, we’re seeing many forward-thinking service providers look to the clouds for inspiration. And they’re wise to consider how they can make the most out of massively popular consumer applications already out there. By opening up their own networks to over-the-top (OTT) providers to develop their own applications, new and potentially very lucrative, customer-friendly solutions can start to appear.”

With the help of network API (Application Programming Interface) aggregation, communications service providers (CSPs) can open their Big Data and existing infrastructure to OTT developers to create new services. Furthermore, Convergys is empowering telecoms companies to enhance existing infrastructure and applications with new features such as Facebook and Dropbox integration. This lets CSPs refresh their customer experiences and generate new revenues, with minimal upfront investment.

Stuart Eveleigh will be attending Africa Com and is available to discuss this topic on-site or over the phone on request.
