GITEX Technology Week, the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia region’s top ICT event, opened from October 19 to 25, 2013, in Dubai, with the world’s leading brands revealing new products and services, and the industry’s key decision makers driving thought leadership on the industry’s opportunities and challenges across the region.

The Middle East continues to be a booming market for the ICT industry with total spend projected to increase 5.5 percent from 2012 to $192.9 billion in 2013, according to IT research firm Gartner Inc, driving the future of ICT in the Middle East and beyond is the 33rd edition of GITEX Technology Week, held at the Dubai World Trade Center on October 20-24 under the theme “Lets Create, Disrupt and Re-imagine Together”, with Dubai Internet City as a strategic partner.

More than 130,000 ICT professionals from 150 countries are set to attend the 2013 edition of GITEX Technology Week, with 80 percent of the world’s leading ICT brands present. Below is the excerpts of an interview of one of the business executives, Mr. Marlon Balat, who participated.

What is the nature of the business?

Pro technology and Pro Style are dealing with European particularly Life style and health related products.

What kind of products do you offer?

Humidifier, Dehumidifier, Air purifier and Atoma diffuser, they are air improvement products. Sonic chair for life style, improve Solar for technology and products for innovations.

How is your company positioned in your country and what are its future objectives?

To be number one seller and country distributor that provides high quality services and solutions through technology and innovations.

Which country do you particularly see as having great potential?

MENA Region: United Arab Emirates and Dubai.

What regions are most focused on?

MENA Region

What are your current business interests in Africa? In which African countries?

North Africa.

What opportunities do you see in Africa?

New business partners, resellers and hospitality groups.

Why did you decide to exhibit at the event, what are you hoping to achieve?

Total exposure to more consumers and a gateway for international business partners and opportunities.
