Accenture is very excited with the momentum that is beginning to take shape in the industry, utilities are transitioning from pilots to full implementation.

c.  What do you see as the major challenges in the utility sphere?
The utility’s challenges will remain their ability to convert good strategy or strategic intents to the real tangible outcomes. Lack of excellent execution is going to cause major project delays.

d.  What is your vision for the energy industry?
The industry needs to narrow down focus areas to few strategy areas – generation capacity backlog; distribution maintenance backlog and  debt collection backlog.

e.  What opportunities do you see in South Africa/Africa?
The key opportunities in South Africa is to contextualize smart grid agenda and make it relevant to realization South Africa specific business benefits.
