Africa, 25th March 2014: The internet is fast becoming integral to daily life in Africa, with over 167 million web users on the continent and that number rising rapidly.

According to data from Internet World Statistics (, the African countries with the most internet users are:

– Nigeria: 48.4 million online users or 28% of the population

– Egypt: 29.8 million users or 36% of the population

– Morocco: 16.5 million users or 51% of the population

– Kenya: 12 million users or 28% of the population

– South Africa: 8.5 million users or 17.4% of the population
