Water woes haunt the developing world:Will MDG 7 be a reality?

A young farmer Maxwell Murambiwa (photographed) in rural Zimbabwe contemplates how he is going to fend for his family as water resources continue to dwindle due to various causes including climate change,corruption and lack of proper water governance. Also with shocking reports that with the exception of sub-Saharan Africa, the world is well on its way to meeting MDG 7 of halving the proportion of people without sustainable access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation  by 2015, many families like Maxwell’s in the developing world are heading into uncertainty due to lack of water access.
