Power Nigeria – Introducing global power to the local market

Power Nigeria provides an opportunity for local and international companies to network and create sales leads, ultimately resulting in much needed development and investment in the region. The exhibition serves as a comprehensive showcase for these core segments of the power and energy industry:

· Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution

· Lighting

· New & Renewable Energy

· Nuclear Energy

· Water

Nigeria has one of the lowest net electricity generation per capita rates in the world with an estimated 50% of the population deprived of access to electricity. Electricity generation falls short of demand, resulting in load shedding, blackouts, and a reliance on private generators. Nigeria is in the process of privatizing the state-owned Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) in hopes that it will lead to greater investment and increased power generation. Additionally Nigeria has committed an additional $550m to its newly-established $1bn sovereign wealth fund towards ramping up investment in power supply, part of sweeping reform aimed at boosting an economy beset with chronic electricity shortages.

Power Nigeria provides the ideal platform for international companies to meet key decision makers in the Nigerian energy industry and provides a meeting point for professionals to discuss and debate the challenges the Nigerian energy sector is currently facing.
