To Build a New World with Green Gas – Nuclear Energy

Nuclear reactions release a million times more energy, as compared to hydro or wind energy. Hence, a large amount of electricity can be generated. Presently, approximately 10-15% of the world’s electricity is generated through nuclear energy. One kilogram of uranium-235 approximately produces as much energy as 1,500 tons (1,500,000 kilograms) of coal. What’s more, there is no emission of these gases during nuclear reaction; There is very little effect on the environment which means no air pollution.

China has plans to build 29 new nuclear power plants to add to its current 19 aims to have installed nuclear output capacity of 58GWe by 2020.China’s National Development and Reform Commission has indicated the intention to raise the percentage of China’s electricity produced by nuclear power from the current 2% to 6% by 2020 (compared to 20% in the USA and 74% in France). However, the challenges in the proposed rapid build-out nuclear power for the industry player are lack of technologies, shortfall of fuel, equipment localization, cost reduction, training qualified plant workers, and safety inspectors.

According to IBI Corp, China interested in building nuclear plant in E. Africa, too.

In order to continue its endeavor towards further creating awareness on the nuclear energy and learning from global developments in the said field, Polaris is organizing its industry forum on Nuclear Energy. Together with G.I.I.N. and Korea Nuclear Society, Polaris Consulting Company is going to hold the China International Nuclear Energy Summit 2014 on December 4th-5th in Beijing China. We anticipate some 300 delegates representing over 30 countries. Eminent policy makers, experts and business executives, along with key international figures, were carefully selected to ensure meaningful exchange that will exhibit a variety of perspectives.
