Myles Munroe Speaks To Africa

World renowned pastor and motivational speaker Dr. Myles Munroe is spreading his wisdom in Africa this week.

The much admired Dr. Munroe is in South Africa.

He was born April 20, 1954, in Nassau, Bahamas and is currently in South Africa. He is also a teacher, administrator and author.

Speaking at The New Age Business Briefing this week, which was broadcasted by the South African Broadcasting Corporation 2, SABC 2, he said, “Politicians think of winning the next election. Leaders think of the next generation. Don’t confuse power with leadership.

Dr. Munroe praised Nelson Mandela’s leadership qualities, saying they can address some of the problems bedeviling humanity in Africa, the Middle East and other parts of the world.

He continued, “True leaders never seek positions. They seek to put others in positions. They are born out of conviction and they don’t live for themselves but for others. True leaders have true vision that protect the future of humanity,’ said Munroe.

Along side Dr. Munroe was South Africa’s Minister of Energy, Tina Joemat-Petterson, the two were speaking on the topic, ‘Nurturing Leaderships and Inspiring Change’, at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.

Dr. Munroe also noted that much of the problems bedeviling the world today were caused, among other things, by a lack of leadership.

“After the Second World War, leaders created countries through a pencil on a map. Africa is the product of this. They forgot that this was a much more complicated issue. That is also what we’re seeing in the Middle East.”

Dr. Munroe added that the second problem in the world was religion. ‘All major religions in the world have a history of violence.”

“Any religions that devalues humans cannot claim to represent God. We need to move away from religious zeal,” declared Munroe.

Meanwhile, Joemat-Petterson who was with Munroe at the SABC 2/The New Age Business Briefing agreed that moral values in South Africa have never been espoused by politicians. She also critised the abdication of responsibilities by families.

“Once the family abdicates that responsibility to the government, then we have a huge gap in leadership, added Joemat-Petterson.
