IOM, INTERPOL Combat Trafficking in Uganda

GENEVA, Switzerland, November 28, 2014/African Press Organization (APO)/ — Uganda’s borders are porous and the country is vulnerable to illegal cross border activities, including human trafficking and migrant smuggling. Migrants, Mostly from Africa, Continue Deadly Mediterranean Crossings

GENEVA, Switzerland, November 28, 2014/African Press Organization (APO)/ — IOM’s team providing assistance to migrants arriving in Europe by sea from North Africa and the Middle East recorded another 18 migrants reported missing, and presumed dead this week. Sakharov Prize 2014 to be awarded to Dr Denis Mukwege today

STRASBOURG, France, November 26, 2014/African Press Organization (APO)/ — Dr Denis Mukwege, a Congolese gynaecologist who specialises in treating victims of rape and extreme sexual violence, is this year’s laureate of the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought.
