Impressions create the Future and vice versa… GITEX, Dubai

October 12-16, 2014

Dubai is a space city striving to the future, turning dreams into reality, which lift the city right to the stars. Late in the evening, when you stand on the square illuminated by screens near the entrance to GITEX exhibition (nearby IBIS hotel), enjoy the stars and the moon above the peaks of beautiful skyscrapers, on looking at the darkening sky.

The view fascinates and enchants; you start thinking about the human being, the fragility of life, numerous disappointments in people, and deafening joy. You keep on waiting for it, worrying and hoping for a better fate. However, even for a brief moment, the beauty and splendor of Dubai give you a certain invigorating optimism boost… and you just want to live.

GITEX is an annual information technology exhibition held in Dubai World Trade Centre; the exhibition impresses with its scale and the latest achievements, experience exchange at various conferences, forums, workshops, vivid presentations, the speeches by famous business leaders, awarding prizes in relevant areas of information and technology, and many other interesting activities.

A cherry on top of this awesome technological show was the performance by musical groups that added a relaxing bonus to this mutually beneficial noise of negotiations…

Innovation and music are like a foamy seething wave that cannot be stopped; this creative urge is integrated and represents life energy.

GITEX Technology Week was formally opened by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, accompanied by many high-ranking officials. On approaching exhibition stalls, the Crown Prince of Dubai talked to the representatives of ministries and companies, expressing his interest in new products. As we know, the first impression is the most accurate, objective, and truthful.

He expressed exceptional modesty, while his look showed the flight to technological future; however, this dynamism of thought is always supported by the warmth of the heart, soul and humanity. One with himself, yet still close to everyone. This is pure poetry.

In October, GITEX attracted over 100,000 visitors from different countries (http://www.gitex.com). Many global and smaller companies took part in this event.

Pavilions with numerous exhibition stalls and thousands of participants showing their products and exclusive offers by their companies boggle the imagination in their scale, diversity of human ideas, and creativity.

On visiting each pavilion, you fix your eyes on interesting innovations and presentations that can become new profitable opportunities for business visitors.

Every year, the UAE Government presents its innovative, technological, and managerial achievements at GITEX. Ministries and state organizations can be found in the great hall. Not all countries pay special attention to technological development, as the UAE. This draws admiration.

Last year, the United Arab Emirates won the right to host the World Expo 2020 in Dubai.

The importance of hosting and operating global projects related to e-business cannot be overemphasized. Government support to such ideas inspires intensive development of the state, the innovative image of the country in the world arena and, of course, brings profit.

The development of information technology in a given country will affect its future, economy, and independence. The world is changing very fast.

That is why taking part in the events, like GITEX is extremely important for not only the companies, but also for state organizations from different countries. Positive experiences create the way to success.

I express my deepest gratitude to Kent Daniels, Head of Marketing, ICT Cluster, Dubai World Trade Centre, one of the world’s leading experts in organizing such major events, for this opportunity to get ultimate new experience, joy, optimism boost, and one more step closer to my cherished dream. Thank you very much.

Impressions create the Future, and vice versa … This is our Life.
