3rd Annual Africa Hospital Expansion Summit


Noppen – in partnership with the East Africa Healthcare Federation – will be hosting on 23 & 24 of September its third edition of the Africa Hospital Expansion Summit. After 2 successful years in South Africa and Zambia, this next edition will be taking place in Mozambique, where the government is having big plans for new public hospitals and various private operators are looking for further expansion.

“Healthcare demands in Africa are rapidly changing and the challenges faced are at a turning point. The reforms and partnerships that governments undertake over the next decade will be crucial in improving overall health in the continent” Says Dr Amit N Thakker, Chair of the East Africa Health Platform.Substantial investment will be needed to meet the growing demand – largely from low and middle-income households, which comprise 70% of Africa’s purchasing power.

At the Summit over 20 eminent speakers will be discussing several topics, ranging fromdesign and planning of new hospital and healthcare projects, to training and HR, telemedicine and eHealth, Quality in healthcare and finally healthcare financing.

A Roundtable featuring eminent representatives from several African Ministries of Health, as well as a side meeting hosted by EAHF will be some of the highlights not to miss at the 2 day summit in Mozambique.
