The development of efficient infrastructure is a basic requirement for sustainable economic growth and poverty alleviation in Africa. In order to unlock the continent’s huge growth potential and to put Africa on the path to accelerated economic and social development, the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA) was adopted by the AU Heads of State and Government in 2012.

Paris, France, 2 November 2015, SpeedCast France (formerly Geolink Satellite Services), today announced that it has successfully deployed a 35-site network for Save the Children International (SCI), an international NGO with its central office in London, UK. The new satellite service provides connectivity to a network of 35 C-band VSAT systems across 35 sites in Africa.
The African continent is experiencing rapid retail expansion, and is being compared to China in 1987 when it was predicated to be the next big thing(1).
African Heads of State and Government gathered at the Third Africa-India Forum Summit (AIFS-III) on 29 October 2015 witnessed a blend of the rich cultural diversity of Africa and India during the opening ceremony that took place at the Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex in New Delhi, where dance groups from both sides in their colourful traditional regalia, showcased the beauty of a fruitful partnership between Africa and India.
