A.M. Best Affirms Ratings of East Africa Reinsurance Company Limited
To help improve health care in Botswana, the Global Pharma Health Fund, a charitable initiative funded by Merck, a leading science and technology company, has donated a mobile compact laboratory to the Health Ministry in the capital city of Gaborone to help detect counterfeit medicines. The so-called Minilab can be used to identify inferior and counterfeit medicines rapidly and reliably. In this context, Kai Beckmann, Member of the Executive Board of Merck, met with the Minister of Health of Botswana, Honorable Dorcas Makgato-Malesu today in Gaborone. The Minilab is worth around 45,254 Botswanan Pulas (approx. € 4,000).
AUC and RECS harmonizing their M&E systems of the first ten year implementation plan of the agenda 2063
The technical meeting of the African Union Commission (AUC), United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and Regional Economic Communities (RECs) on the convergence of Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) systems for the first 10 Years Implementation Plan of the Agenda 2063 was held from 16 to 18 November 2015 in Nairobi, Kenya. Representatives of the AUC, UNECA, Joint Secretariat Support Office (JSSO), Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMMESA), East African Community (EAC), Economic Community Of West African States (ECOWAS) and Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) attended the meeting. The meeting outlined key national targets and indicators that would be monitored and evaluated directly by RECs.
